More Teachers and Smaller Group Sizes
A better teacher/child ratio ensures greater care for your child. At times we have twice the amount of required staff according to provincial standards. Earthlings currently has four qualified educators and our license is for a maximum of 15 children. We always have at least one more educator on the premisses than the average provincial requirement. All staff have Early Childhood Education experience, an ECE Diploma or Degree, First Aid Training and some food service training. We also love to involve our community by inviting special guests to share their skills and stories with the children.

Roxy
I’m Roxy Norris, director and creator of Earthlings Childcare. It has been my dream come true opening this unique preschool and after school program! I have a diploma in ECE and nearly 20 years of experience in Early Childhood Education. Helping to make a young child’s first school experience a positive one is something I live for. Also, keeping school age kids engaged, active, and creative while helping to instil healthy life and social skills is a role I’m honoured to fill. Remembering that these young minds have plenty to teach us ‘grown-ups’ as well! From the first day I volunteered at a daycare centre, long ago, I knew this would be my career for life. I truly believe this is the best job ever and I’m beyond grateful for every moment spent with these amazing children.

Hi, I'm Haley and I'm a teacher in the morning preschool classes here at Earthlings. Several years ago my daughter was an Earthlings preschool student. I loved the atmosphere and environment so much that I applied for a job when she went off to kindergarten. I have a passion for play based learning and all of the creative, imaginative opportunities this approach allows. There is nothing more rewarding than expanding on children's budding ideas. It makes every preschool class unique and exciting. Along with six years of hands on teaching experience, I hold a diploma in Early Childhood Education.
Haley is bilingual. She has a strength at implementing the emergent curriculum in creative ways to further explore into children’s interests in the moment.

Hi, my name is Chrystal Leal. I am an energetic mother of two amazing boys. My youngest son attended Earthlings Childcare as a preschooler. I still remember the feeling I had when I walked into Earthlings; I felt at home, and knew that it was where my son would want to be. I have always dreamed of making a difference in the lives of children. I have been working as an educator at Earthlings since Spring of 2016 and feel so blessed to be here. Every day is filled with love and laughter. I am also expanding my Early Childhood Education online with NBCC. I feel that the more we learn the more we grow!
Chrystal’s positive, ambitious presence has been a wonderful addition to our staff team. She’s always one step ahead of keeping things organized while simultaneously making time for fun and being a great listener to children and their families.
Charity
My name is Charity, I am a 13 year experienced ECE/EA and I also am a Family Support Worker for children in foster care and people with disabilities. I am the mother of a bright and energetic 2 year old who is the light of my life. I have always known that my true calling was working with children and am so grateful to have been an Earthling for a year and a half now. Learning through play is one of the most valuable forms of learning and I pride myself in my ability to facilitate it for my little friends.
Charity enjoys the great outdoors and getting creative with the children. Her natural ability to communicate in a warm and friendly way with our families and fellow staff adds extra positivity to the Earthlings environment. She excels at making playtime fun and educational.
Education & Safety
Providing a positive, nurturing and safe learning environment is our greatest concern. All Educators at Earthlings have up-to-date First Aid and CPR Training. We are a licensed facility so EECD and Public Health coordinators as well as the Fire Marshall come in for regular spot checks to ensure we are in compliance with all NB daycare standards.
